MEET ALYCE CRISTINA VALLEJO

Alyce began her dance training at North Carolina Dance Theater and The Charlotte School of Ballet. She continued her budding professional career at Florida State University. During her time at FSU, she performed several works of Balanchine, restaged by Suzanne Farrell, Jules Perrot's "Pas De Quatre," restaged by Richard Sais, Alonzo King, and Alex Ketley, among others. In 2003, Alyce received special invitation from Suzanne Farrell to study with her at the Kennedy Center; then in 2004 an invitation to attend, Alonzo King | LINES Ballet Summer Intensive.

Alyce’s professional career has spanned over a decade in the Charlotte area, performing with Martha Connerton/Kinetic Works, Guest Artist for the Charlotte Youth Ballet, and with Moving Poets Charlotte/Berlin, among others. Alyce teaches dance in public and private settings, integrating the art of dance and curriculum, providing students with the foundation to thrive as technicians and artists. Additionally, Alyce is a certified yoga teacher, teaching various weekly classes at Yoga One and Charlotte Yoga. She is also the creator and co-leader of Discover Your Pura Vida: Yoga, Adventure and Cultural Retreat in Costa Rica. You can catch Alyce dancing her way around Charlotte with/in her most powerful and challenging role as Mama to her daughter, Amelia Jean. It is through Amelia’s eyes of discovery that inspires Alyce to make everyday an adventure and full of LOVE! Alyce is greatly honored and humbled to be dancing, learning and growing from Kim Jones and the artist of Movement Migration.
