July 26: Masterclass with Pablo Francisco Ruvalcaba

A native of San Diego, California, Pablo is a Juilliard School graduate and a 20-year Limón Dance Company veteran. Pablo joined the Limón Dance Company in 1996, during his tenure, he originated roles by such noted guest choreographers as Doug Varone, Donald McKayle, Murray Louis, Lar Lubovitch among others. He has performed José Limón's roles in LDC’s revivals of Missa Brevis, The Traitor, Lament For Ignacio Sanchez Mejías and The Moor's Pavane as well as featured in reconstructions of works by Sokolow, Tudor, Kylián, and more. Pablo is a Co-Founding Director of The Higher Ground Festival of New York City, and a founding member of Movement Migration. He is current faculty at Hofstra University of New York, and teaches the Limón technique and it's repertory extensively nationally and internationally.

Pablo is currently attending New York University earning a dual graduate degree: MFA in Dance and MA in Teaching Dance. “Created as a partnership between NYU Steinhardt and NYU Tisch School of the Arts, this highly innovative graduate program combines intensive study in dance technique, theory, and composition in a renowned conservatory setting with performance and choreography opportunities and student teaching placements in New York City schools.”
